Default -- The Ultimate Lockdown --

Hello everyone.

This thread is about a certain lockdown in which I think is the best lockdown you can get in the game.



Card Name: Destiny Hero - Plasma
Attrbite: Dark
Level: 8
Attack: 1900
Defence: 600
Type: Warrior/Effect

Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Tributing 3 monsters you control. Once per turn, select your opponent's monster and equip it to this card. (You can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card.) This card gains ATK equal to half of the ATK of the equipped monster. While this card is face-up on the field, negate all the effects of face-up Effect Monsters your opponent controls.



Card Name: Secret Village of the Spellcasters
Card Colour: Green
Card Type: Spell
Card Activation type: Field Spell

Effect: If you control a Spellcaster-Type monster and your opponent does not, your opponent cannot activate Spell Cards. If you control no Spellcaster-Type monsters, you cannot activate Spell Cards.



Card Name: Royal Decree
Card Colour: Pink
Card Type: Trap
Card Activation Type: Continuous

Effect: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, negate the effects of all Trap Cards on the field except this card.

Basically you can only do this strategy/lockdown when you have a spellcaster on the field otherwise the lockdown will backfire on you but anyway, the this strategy/lockdown is set to nulify your opponents traps, Spells and monster effects. There is a cost which is the fact that you can't uise trap cards (or spells if you haven't got a spellcaster but try and make sure you do) but it's a good lockdown in my opinion and it's very easy to make into a deck like a spellcaster deck since I would think the best deck for this lockdown to be in would be a spellcaster deck, because of of the Villiage mainly, but you could just put cards like Destiny Hero - Malicious, Destiny Draw, Allure of Darkness and Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer (and others) to boost the speed and intencify the deck and making it so you can get the lockdown faster without any errors.

Although you would have to make sure your sopponent doesn't use cards like Solemn Judgment, Dark Bribe or maybe cards like Lightnong Vortex.

(P.S. Destiny Hero - Plasma has a continuous effect as well as a trigger effect and Continuous effects cannot be targeted by cards like Divine Wrath)

Although it would be impressive to get all four needed cards on the field, this isn't as complete a lockdown as you would hope. In fact, it's almost pointless because of the current preferred play areas. Plasma only negates effect monsters on the Field, which means the hand and the graveyard are still playgrounds for everyone's least favorite archetypes..

It's great in theory, but it's a bit hard to fit plasma (and summon him) in a spellcaster as spellcasters don't swarm that much. You can of course use cards like Fires of Doomsday, but Village may getin your way..
I think it's just tough to set this up and even more tough to keep it going cause of Village's effect. Your opponent can always summon smth, destroy your spellcaster and then play spells as much as he wants.

All in all a good lockdown, but still I wouldn't call it ultimate. Nice idea though!

Yes, I agree with the others - it might be a nice lock but it's very hard to pull it off fast enough and even if you do it's too fragile. For example, all it takes is a single random Exiled Force to kill plasma. Of course there's also the more obvious fault - Plasma getting attacked by some LS monster with an Honest Boost.

I wouldn't call it ultimate either but I just thought of it yesterday and I know it has some faults in it (I just but "Ultimate" in just for the title).

Oh, costs aren't affected by Plasma so that's one problem as well as Honest which is another. I suppose maybe using a card to nulify them could help but that would take too long.

Also, I thought this combo wouldn't be too long to get out since it consists of a trpa and spell card, although from what you typed, Plasma is the problematic card in the lockdown to get out. What about just having Scapegoat of something like that? Aris already mentioned Fires of Doomsday. But then again it depends on how fast your opponents deck is.

Not bad, but there really is an ultimate lockdown already posted in the Strategy Forum by exshelci: Ultimate Lockdown.

Yours is a good combo anyway, so good job, although you should probably use the search engine from time to time ;)

It's weird actually, and quite funny, because after I did this thread )with four dashes) I went on teh "Who's Online" topic and found someone reading another article of "The Ultimate Lock-down" (that's how it was spelt as the title) and that it was made by Exshelci, who hasn't actually been on for round about 4 or 5 months but that's besides the point. And after you typed that, more people were viewing that thread (don't know the number).

Ah I know what you mean by that, as in using Elemental Hero Stratos to get Destiny Hero - Plasma? Because that would set the lockdown quicker. ANd thanks for the feedback, Darkness.

I think I've found a pretty good way of doing this lockdown using an apprentice engine.

Your Turn
Set Apprentice, Decree, Fires of Doomsday.

Opponent's Turn
Activate Decree when necessary, Fires of Doomsday at the End Phase.

Your Turn
Activate Secret Village.
Flip Apprentice Magician
Summon an easily special summoned spellcaster (Tricky, Chaos Sorcerer) and/or a strong level 4 (Kycoo, Breaker, etc.)
Special Summon Plasma with Apprentice and the 2 Doomsday Tokens.

Necessary Cards (6):
Apprentice Magician
Tricky/Chaos Sorcerer/strong level 4 spellcaster
Destiny Hero - Plasma
Fires of Doomsday
Secret Village of the Spellcasters
Royal Decree

With Allures and Golds helping get the necessary cards, it becomes a bit more plausible. I'm running something similar, but with Dark Ruler Ha Des instead of Plasma (don't have any Plasmas) and no Fires of Doomsday (not necessary when not running Plasma). It works pretty well and I can get most of the parts within the first 3 or 4 turns. But I still prefer the old fashioned lockdown of Horus and Decree.

IMO, the ultimate lockdown should be something like this:

Dark Simorgh + Anti-Spell Fragrance + Ground Collapse + Ojama Trio.

Though, I think that it's hard to be executed.

Dark Simorgh + Anti-Spell Fragrance + "The Last Warrior from Another Planet" is really SOMETHING <; I mean -> how can you beat that if it's executed?

Can't be done. Last Warrior destroys Simorgh and stops you from summoning.
