Default Zentu's Card Review 2. - Rejected Cards?!

Ok to begin, I'm sure you are all aware by now, that some of the most popular or by todays standards, "Retro" cards, have goten some make overs or rather they evolved to better versions of themselves.

-This brings me to the card you see here.

It is quite obvious that this card looks like Kuriboh... However, it dose not share its effect.

Lets comapare Celtic Guardain, with Obnoxious Celtic Guardain. Its obvious that if you had to choose between these 2 you would likely pick the one with the effect.

-This brings me to ask, Are "Look-a-likes" proof of Konami's (or the creators) Lack of Creativity? Or was their an intended use for each card made dispite aphearences? Are cards Like the one you see above...forever doomed to become make-shift Drink coasters? to be used by 3 yr olds (dose not apply to the responsible ones) To be found randomly with tears and faded ink?

I would like to start something here in lou of this thread, and ask for a list of Monsters Known to repeate....By which I mean, How many, have been reinvented, or upgraded. I provided you all with 2 examples already.

I don't think it's lack of creativity. They only remake cards that had a certain significance in the show. They made lots of support for Red-Eyes, Blue-Eyes, Dark Magician and remade famous cards like Celtic Guardian, Gaia the Fierce Knight, Summoned Skull and Kuriboh. They didn't remake all the other above lv5-with less than 2000 atk crappy cards.

hmm.. probabbly it's a remake card.

The appearance of Kuriboh and Celtic Guardian might be popular among the japanese people, so the only way to make it more useful in Anime, they will have to remake it from a normal card to an effect card ^-^,

I really like the design character on Celtic Guardian, it looks rather appealing for me ^-^,

I have to agree, celtic guardian was one of my favorite cards because of the card artwork. To have another version of it like obnoxious celtic guard that can actually be used is great. I think that the card creators have their favorite cards also that NEVER get play and would like to give them a remake (swift gaia the fierce knight). I mean honestly when was the last time you saw gaia the fierce knoght or celtic guardian in a deck? Some of it might be a little lack of creativity, but for fans of the cards it's great to see that they haven't been forgotten. I have always been a fan of ERIA THE WATER CHARMER, and it has taken several forms in FAMILIAR POSESSED ERIA, RAGING ERIA, and the character was on a trap card SPIRITUAL WATER ART AOI. I think the creators just want to keep some of their own work alive, I mean everyone wants to be remembered don't they?
Just my opinion, doesn't mean anything.

enraged battle ox is another example. I think it makes certain old card favourites usable wheras they would otherwise have been shelved not a problem for me.

In the case of wretched ghost of the attic, at the time of its release it was just another card for the game. there needs to be some weak monsters to include in the packs or everyone will have lots of equally strong ones.

It looks like kuriboh perhaps the same way different species of dogs still look like dogs... besides i'm sure there was an original connection betweeen them when they were created that either was forgotten when things developed of got lost in the translation.

Well...If ask me, Its probably one of those things, where a favorite card, may be getting older. If you take the Card I displayed. I assume that Kuriboh is an older version of that card. Or just more experienced.
