Yu-Gi-Oh! The Chaos Project

Hey all dear readers. This is a new project I've started a few days ago, but the idea is very old. I won't say much now, I'll just say this is not exactly the classic Fan Fic with a hero and some villains, everything is relative...you'll understand things as you read. :)
Well, I really hope you'll enjoy this first episode :)

Human society. You may like it or not but one thing is for sure: it's still here and working.
Why? Simple, everytime in our history the order of things got altered, someone restored it.
A society without order can't work. We can see this everyday: where there's war people die and no forms of equalitary government are possible.
But if you want peace, you've gotta be prepared to bring war.
We could say that, if you want order, you've gotta be prepared to bring Chaos.

It was late night and the old man was still working, his back curved on the piece of paper he was writing on. At some point he felt he had to take a break: he had been working for ten hours straight and his head hurted badly.
He layied his pen on his desk and turned his armchair so he could look outside of the big window behind him.
The weather was horrible: the storm was still raging and gave no signs of getting better.
At this point telling who that person was seems necessary.
That man was the dictator of a small ex-republic in south Africa, he had achieved the absolute control of that country thanks to the mercenary forces he had hired; his regime was built on the blood of innocent people.
His residence, however, was on a small island in the Atlantic Ocean: its location uknown to anyone to avoid possible assassination attempts.
After a few minutes, the old man decided to go to sleep.
After all, his work hadn't to be finished that day.
When he turned back to the desk, though, he noticed something was terribly wrong: a person was standing in the middle of the room, silently watching the scene.
“Who are you?! And how the hell did you get through my security?!” The man shouted at the stranger, frightened.
“No need to worry about that, sir. It will be all over soon” the person replied.
The old man took a better look at the mysterious guy: he was just a young man, seemed to be something like 20 years old. His hair was long and black. His eyes of a vivid green color.
The answer given by the stranger scared the dictator even more.
“You will have to duel me old man. Don't worry, that won't take long” the stranger added.
“What? Duel you? Are you joking? Why should I do that?” The old man replied slightly relieved. That boy had to be retarded. Breaking in there just to duel? Idiot.
He slowly put an arm under his desk to press the security button.
“Because you don't really have a choice, mister. Don't even waste time trying to call the security, I've taken my measures against that” The boy replied with a gentle smile on his face.
“Why would you want to duel me?” The old man insisted.
“Everything will be clear soon enough. Now do as I say.” The boy replied. His face and voice showed no emotion at all.
“Fine then, I'll do that. I guess you wouldn't leave if I don't accept, would you?” The old man said, taking an old duel disk and a deck from his desk.
“Seems like you're clever enough to understand. Then let's finish this thing soon” The old boy said, loading his deck in his dueling disk

LP: 8000 / 8000

Old man: I'll go first...draw!! ...Perfect, I'll summon “Silent Ninja” in attack mode.

As he said so a Ninja dressed in black appeared on the field.
-Silent Ninja|ATK/1300|DEF1000|LV4|Warrior/Effect|EARTH|-

Old man: I'll set a card and end my turn.
Boy: Guess it's my move then. I draw. *looks at the drawn card first, and then at the old man* Now you're going to understand the reason why I challanged you. I summon “Chaos End Sorcerer” in attack mode.

A winged magician in a black armor appears on the field.
-Chaos End Sorcerer|ATK/1200|DEF/400|Spellcaster/Effect|DARK|LV2|-

The old man smiled bravely. Only 1200 attack points!!

Old man: You've gotta summon something better than that to beat me, kid.
Boy: True. Go, Chaos End Sorcerer, attack his Ninja.

The magician fastly flied towards the ninja. The old man looked at the scene, shocked.

Old man: What the...? That thing is weaker than my Ninja you idiot!!
Boy: Once again, you are right.

The boy's monster was killed by the Ninja causing the old man to laugh.
-LP 7900 8000-

Old man: That was sad young man!!

The ninja suddenly turned into black stone and exploded. The old man stopped laughing.

Old man: What the hell? Where's my monster?

The boy smiled gently and calmly started speaking.

Boy: Gone. It was my monster's effect. If it's destroyed while battling against a level four or lower monster I can destroy that monster and special summon from my hand or deck a “Chaos End Master”.

The boy looked through his deck, looking for the card. He suddenly grabbed one and showed it to his opponent.

Boy: Here he is!! Come forth Chaos End Master!!

Another winged magician landed on the field, sorrounded by a white aura. His armor white and
golden. The old man seemed really impressed.
-Chaos End Master|ATK/1500|DEF/1000|Warrior/Effect/Tuner|LIGHT|LV3|-

Old man: Seems like you can play after all...
Boy: Correct. Chaos End Master, attack him directly.

The white angel created a white sphere of energy and launched it towards the old man.

-LP 7900 6500-

He suddenly screamed in pain and fell to his knees: he looked at the boy, shocked. What was that pain? But as he got back on his feet he finally realized that: he didn't know how, but his life was in danger. His face clearly showed the terror he was feeling.

Boy: Seems like you finally understood. This is not a game. I've been sent here to kill you, mister. I'm here to restore the order. You are dueling to defend your life.
Old man: Restore the order? You mean in my country? Huh, come on, you are not better than me!!
You are not a good person, you are not an hero, you are just like me: a killer!!

The boy smiled gently once again.

Boy: I've never said I am the good guy here, and I'm certainly not a hero. I'm just doing what has to be done in order to keep the world alive, I don't expect you to understand.

The old man laughed histerically.

Old man: So you think you are enforcing justice this way?
Boy: No. Justice is just a word used by people to justify their need for revenge. I've already told you I'm here to keep our society going. Nothing more.I set a card and end my turn.
Old man: Whatever, I can't lose to someone like you!! I draw!! ...fine, I'll summon this big bad guy, come forth “Strike Ninja”!!

As he said so, a Ninja appeared on the field. He was wielding two knives.
-Strike Ninja|ATK/1700|DEF/1200|Warrior/Effect|DARK|LV4|-

Old man: And now I activate my set card, “Hand Destruction”!! So we both send two cards from our hand to our graveyard to draw 2 more.
Boy: As you wish.

Both the boy and the old man chose two cards in their hand and shown them to each other before sending them to the graveyard and drawing two more.

Old man: Now go Strike Ninja, destroy his pathetic monster!!

The Ninja attacked, but two enormous wings protected his opponent, blocking the Ninja's attack and sending him into pieces.

Old man: What the hell?!
Boy: This is one of my favourite monsters, there's no way I'll let you hurt him.

The boy revealed a card in his hand: it was Honest. The old man screamed in pain once again.

-LP 7900 5000-

Suddenly another monster appeared on the boy's side of the field. A huge black sphere sorrounded by a strange aura stood in the middle of the room.
-|Sphere Of Chaos|ATK/1600|DEF/0|Fiend/Effect|DARK|LV5|-

Old man:What does that mean?!?!
Boy: It's my Chaos End Master's effect: if it destroys an opponent's monster by battle, I can Special Summon a Level 5 or higher monster with 1600 ATK or less from my Deck.
Old man: Damn it, damn it, damn it!!
Boy: You see? You can't stop me, mister. Like it or not I'm going to take your life.
Old man: We'll see. I'll set two cards and end my turn. *Thinking* It's not a great protection, but I hope it'll work, otherwise I'm pretty much screwed.

The boy slowly drawn a card from his deck. After looking at it he closed his eyes. He was ready to finish the job.

Boy: I'm sorry sir. Seems like you'll be leaving sooner than what I expected.
Old man: Make your move already!!
Boy: Sure. Time for a Synchro summon. I use my Chaos End Master and my Sphere of Chaos to summon a new creature!! Come forth “Darkness – Envoy Of The End”!!

As he said so the two monsters became light and soon a new creature appeared: it was a fiendish knight in a black shiny armor. A golden crown on his head. He wielded a huge Scythe.
-!Darkness – Envoy Of The End|ATK/3200|DEF/1000|Fiend/Synchro/Effect|DARK|LV8|-

The old man looked at the solemn creature, shocked. He had no way to win that duel and he knew that.

Boy: When Envoy of the End is Synchro summoned, I can destroy a number of cards on the field equal to the number of monsters used for its Synchro summon. This means your defense is gone.

The two facedowns disappear in a dark hole. The old man is terrified.

Old man: This can't be happening!!
Boy: I'm not done. I summon “Arald of Chaos” in attack mode.

A white sphere appears on the field. It's shining.
-Arald Of Chaos|ATK/1200|DEF/0|Fairy/Effect|LIGHT|LV4|

Boy: When this card is normal summoned, I can special summon a level 3 or less monster that includes the word “Chaos” in its name from my graveyard. It's time to come back, Chaos End Master!!
Now let's calculate: 3200 + 1200 + 1500...seems like it's time for you to go, old man.
Old man: Wa..Wait...I can pay!! How much did they pay you? I...I can give you everything you want, but please, please spare my life!!

The old man started crying. The boy looked at him: his face wasn't showing any emotion.

Boy: I don't do it for the money. It's my mission. I'm sorry, it's nothing personal.
Old man: God...God, please help me!!
Boy: You fool, there's no God to save you, otherwise he would of saved the people I cared for long ago.

This time the boy's face showed hatred. The man's prayers awakened dark memories in the young man, causing him an enormous pain. Anger growing inside him.

Boy: Finish him off.
Old man: Nooo!! Please!! PLEASE!!!
Boy: JUST HURRY UP AND DIE!!

Arald and Chaos End Master attacked first, causing the man to scream in pain and fall to his knees. His head was bleeding. Envoy of the End looked at the man, his eyes reflecting the boy's hatred.
He slowly came closer. The old man kept begging, but the monster raised his huge weapon, ready to hit him; after a second it was all over, the corpse of the old man lied dismembered on the floor, blood was everywhere.
The monsters disappeared and the boy calmed down again. He silently opened the window, ready to leave.
People called him Jackal, his true name died with his family. No one really knew his story but him.
He felt that pain once again. “I've just done what had to be done. It's not my fault.” he thought. But he couldn't help feeling a bit sad for the man. That happened to him every time he was sent to restore the order.
“Well, it's time to go now, the security will be here soon” he thought before jumping from the window and disappearing into the night.

Intense... anti-hero... dark... love it!!

Wow I really liked this one, I couldn't find any point I didn't like. Very well done, you'd better write more episodes right now - turn away from school, beer and duelling, and just focus on this Chaos Project!

P.S. I might consider turning away from school but beer and dueling remain xD

Oh btw there's something important I forgot to add: some of the cards are real (Chaos End Master, Chaos Sphere, Strike Ninja...) and some were created by my disturbed (jk) fantasy lol (Darkness - Envoy Of The End, Chaos End Sorcerer, Arald Of Chaos...)

This was funny, because that old man was grumpy especially in the middle of the duel. Usually the elders are the ones that are supposed to be victorious, but that boy managed to win.

I look forward to the next episode. Kudos.

It's very important, especially in the first episodes, to have many different point of views, so I can see what you liked and improve the story :)

You got perfectly what I was trying to communicate with this story Lord :D
I'm studying philosophy at school and I really love it, so I wanted to try and add it to a story in order to make it more interesting and realistic and to also include thematics of our society which are difficult judge.

I'll make sure to make another episode as soon as possible (I won't rush it though, I need to keep quality high xD).
